My First Post

So it has been over a month that I have been in Ireland and I am just now writing in this blog. I suppose that I hadn't quite felt settled in until this last week, when I left the country to go to Prague. Now Dublin feels like home, and now I have motivation to write in my blog!

So far I have gone on a trip every weekend. I have been to Galway and Connemara on the west coast of Ireland - a very rocky but beautiful landscape, Glendalough - the ruins of the monastery of St. Kevin nestled in the Wicklow Mountains overlooking two lakes (glen=valley, da=two, lough=lake, so Glendalough means "Valley of the Two Lakes"), Cork and Kinsale - a large costal city where my friend Maggie is studying and the gourment capital of Ireland, respectively, Tara - the seat of the ancient high kings of Celtic Ireland, and, just this weekend, Prague - the heart of old Bohemia in the Czech Republic.

Before I delve into my Prague post, I would like to direct you to my Flickr site, which is where you will find photographs of my exploits. Feel free to leave comments on the photos if you have any questions concerning them.
